Recent and on-going research has identified chamomiles specific anti-inflammatory, anti-bacterial, muscle relaxant, antispasmodic, anti-allergenic and sedative properties, validating its long-held reputation. Today, Chamomile is included as a drug in the pharmacopoeia of 26 countries.
Internally, Chamomile is beneficial for digestive conditions such as gastrointestinal discomfort, flatulence, dyspepsia, loss of appetite, Irritable Bowel Syndrome, peptic ulcers, gastritis, diarrhoea. It also helps to relieve insomnia, mild anxiety, pediatric colic and teething.
Topically, Chamomile can be used to treat inflammatory skin conditions, cuts, bruises, hemorrhoids, and other irritations.
