Nutritionists believe that the protein in quinoa is of a better quality than meat. In fact, nutrition expert Patrick Holford describes quinoa as "about as close to a perfect food as you can get"!

Quinoa is actually a seed, and a powerful one at that. It's rich in essential fats, vitamins and minerals, and provides almost four times as much calcium as wheat. Unlike most plant proteins, quinoa contains all the essential amino acids, making it a complete protein.

Known as the "mother grain", quinoa has been grown in South America for over 5,000 years and is revered as a source of strength for those working at high altitudes.
