Also known as garbanzo bean flour or besan, chickpea flour is a pulse flour made from ground chickpeas. It is a staple ingredient in Indian, Pakistani, Nepali and Bangladeshi cuisines. 

Why use it?

Although chickpea flour is higher in fat than most flours, it’s also gluten-free and adds a rich, moist consistency to baked goods. It's also high in protein, iron and fibre.
