INCI: Hydrolised Soy Protein

Hydrolised Soy Protein (not to be confused with nutritional Soy Protein) is obtained from the soybean plant, glycine soja. Polypeptides are chains of amino acids, the building blocks of proteins.
Hydrolyzed proteins are proteins that have been broken down into smaller chains of amino acids by reaction with water.

Hydrolised Soy Protein is ideal for hair and skin care products to counter potential irritancy from other ingredients - in particular surfactants. In hair it has great conditioning properties and boosts moisturing, repair and integrity of hair follicles.

Couldn't get it to work for our needs...

We bought this instead of silk protein so we could keep the product vegan, however it didn't blend well in our product (which was thick and warm) so we just left it out in future batches. We might try the silk protein instead which does blend well. I'm sure we'll find another use for it:)

Hydrolyzed Soy Protein

I wanted to create a shampoo bar without silk protein as it doesn't sit well with me being a vegetarian. This soy protein is awesome - all the benefits without the cruelty.
