The Pracaxi tree is native to the wet tropical areas found in the north eastern part of South America. The seeds yield an oil has one of the highest natural concentrations of behenic acid which is a natural fatty acid that acts as a conditioning agent and mild surfactant. For this reason, it makes a great addition to hair conditioners. but can also be used in lotions, creams, and soaps.
