Description

Shea Nilotica, also known as East African Shea, is produced from the fruit of the Vitellaria nilotica whcih is a sub species of the Karite tree (Butyrospermum parkii). Shea Nilotica butter is softer in texture with a very mild aroma and a light yellow color and has a significantly higher content of olein, a glyceride of oleic acid, making it softer and creamier than West African Shea Butter. It is rich in unsaponifiables, antioxidants and cinneamic acid. The shea butter nuts are cold-pressed without any chemicals, and the butter is simply filtered priot to packing.

Shea Nilotica has a lower melt point and a less waxy texture than standard shea and so in warmer weather it may be in a semi-liquid state when you receive it. If this is the case, simply place it in a cool area to firm up before use.

Suggested Uses:

Love the Nilotica

I have been using this butter for years, it's very soft and easy to use. Even as such without mixing with anything. I use it winter for the whole family to nourish and lock in moisture after showering and shampooing. I used it during my pregnancy to help the skin not crack and stay supple.

It's great for making balms, baby ointment, oils baths for curly hair etc.

Superior to the Ghana shea butter

I have used shea butter (wildcrafted from Ghana from another supplier) for about 9 years. However, I recently purchased this product and I prefer it for use on my face. It is better absorbed and is less grainy.

Love Shea butter nilotica

I love the product. I preferred the old packaging though as it was easier to access shea butter.
