Urea acts as a moisturising agent in the stratum corneum layer of the skin and forms part of the skins natural moisturising factor.
When used topically, different concentrations of Urea will have differing effects:
Urea is most stable when in aqueous solutions with a pH of 6.2.
It is also affected by heat and so should only be added during the final stage of manufacturing.
PureNature supplies synthesised Urea which is made in NZ from natural gas and is not derived from animal products.
