  • Full Description
INCI: Lecithin

Lecithin Liquid is an emulsifier which can be used in both water in oil and oil in water emulsions depending on temperature and ratio. One of the characteristics of Lecithin is it's suitability to both oil and water, making it an ideal choice for a variety of emulsion applications.
It is well suited to use in very thin or liquid emulsions where other emulsifiers will fail.  Lecithin Liquid is also the best choice for emulsions that are close to a 50 / 50 oil / water ratio where other emulsifiers will destabilize. As a general rule, use higher amounts of Lecithin Liquid when you have a higher water ratio.

I found this to be a really awesome product. As the other two reviews state, it does have a strong smell. However, it is totally undetectable with Essential oils added to your formulation at 1%. I used 3% Sunflower lecithin in my formula and I cant smell it at all in the finished product. I hope Purenature keeps it in stock. It is a far superior alternative to soy lecithin.

Have to agree with Michelle, very unpleasant odour in finished product. In fact I cannot see how this ingredient can be used with any success in cosmetic products - using fragrance oils or essential oils within the skin safe amounts do not mask the odour at all.
    Rachel
This product is brown and sticky with unpleasant odor, which does not affect the finished product if it is used in a small amount in emulsions. I just experimented it in a lip balm recipe, and it was a disaster, horrible smell and horrible color.
