Method

  1. Weigh sunflower wax and melt in a double boiler using a large beaker, once melted add the weighed shea butter.
  2. Weigh out Avocado, Jojoba and Castor Oils and then add to the melted wax and butter.
  3. Add the vitamin e, mica and flavour.
  4. Mix and pour immediately into desired container (put back on the heat to remelt if needed). TIP: if using lip balm tubes put a rubber band around your tubes to hold them all together for pouring.
  5. Leave to cool before placing on lids.

TIP: Sunflower wax has a very high melt point (80c) and cools very quickly, you need to work at a high temperature and quickly to get it into the containers, it will shrink a little in the container.

Suggested Alternatives:

- You can use any of our organic lip balm flavours
- You can pick any Mica colour

Double Boiler

Half fill a saucepan with water, bring to the boil and reduce to a gentle simmer.

Place the ingredients into a pyrex jug or stainless-steel jug small enough to fit inside the saucepan and best if the handle goes over the outside of the pot. If using a bowl carefully place the bowl on top of the saucepan.
