Our Serum Base allows you to quickly and easily create silky serums with additional of your choice of water-soluble actives. Proudly made in New Zealand.
Very small amounts of essential oil and fragrance may be incorporated into this base, we do recommend the use of a solubiliser for this. However, carrier oils and other oil-soluble active ingredients may not be suitable.
Our DIY bases are designed to allow you to create your own bespoke skincare at home or for business. The bases can hold up to 5% of "added extras". For example if you were making up 100 grams of final product, you would use 95 grams of base and then add a total of 5 grams of additional ingredients.
Example Formula:
95g DIY Base
4g Extract
1g Provitamin B5
- Weigh out the base in a beaker/bowl
- Weigh out the additional ingredients, add to the base and mix well

Many dyes, fragrances or other additives have complex chemistry that can potentially affect the stability or function these bases.
