Our Supplier

ABP LOGOAustralian Botanical Products

PureNature is the exclusive New Zealand agent for the Australian Botanical Products (ABP) range of essential oils. Since 1982, ABP has developed a reputation as one of the leading suppliers of essential oils for professional use across the world.

Passionate about Purity
ABP can guarantee the purity and authenticity of their products with absolute confidence. Each batch of oil must meet precisely defined standards before it is accepted for use, in fact ABP turn away more oil than they accept!. These standards have been developed over their 30 years of business in accordance with international best practice and their own painstaking research. Oils are tested by organoleptic (sensorial) and laboratory analyical methods including their own in-house GCMS laboratory run by Phd Chemists specially trained in GCMS analysis.

Quality Accreditation
ABP is the only Essential oil supplier to be approved by the Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA), this means they conform to some of the most rigourous quality control standards in the world giving further strength to their already impressive quality promise.
ABP are also certifed organic (ACO), HACCP certified and have various other certifications including Halal and Kosher.

Types of Oils

The vast majority of our Essential Oils oils are 100% pure and natural essential oils, the only exceptions are our dilutions and cosmetic grade oils - read on to learn more about these. Our selection of essential oils may be used for a myriad of topical applications such as perfumery, aromatherapy cosmetics and personal care. We do not endorse taking any essential oils internally though they can be used as flavouring agents in cooking and baking.

Certified Organic Essential Oils: These oils have been grown in a more sustainable way without the routine use of harmful herbicides and pesticides. All PureNature certified organic products are certified by BioGro New Zealand.

Absolutes: For some plants, florals in particular, distillation is not a suitable method for extracting the essential oils. It either does not work, is very inefficient or can actually damage the oils. In this instance the oils is extracted using an organic solvent and the end product is called an absolute. Solvent extraction is very efficient but it also extracts gums, resins and waxes from the plant matter which must be removed - this is where we get floral waxes. Traditionally, absolutes are not considered suitable for therapeutic use due to the perception that solvent residues may be present in the oil. However, these concerns are unfounded as only minute traces of solvent remain and at these concentrations would not pose any harm in typical aromatherapy practice.

Cosmetic Grade Oils: These are expertly blended oils, made using a combination of mixed species/origin oils, essential oil fractions and nature identical components. This allows for an oil that closely resembles it's natural counterpart but at a lower cost and consistent aromatic profile. Cosmetic grade oils are not considered therapeutic and should be used for their scent only.

Dilutions: As the name suggests, our more expensive oils diluted in pure jojoba. Easy to use and easy on the pocket.

Essential Oil Blends: Expertly crafted by our in-house Aromatherapist, the easy way to use essential oils for everyday health and beauty.
