This special Frankincense is sourced from the northern, arid lands of Kenya around Marsabit and Laisamis. Although harvesting is tightly controlled and regulated, the industry is still developing. Even so, it is already providing a vital stream of income for impoverished communities that mainly rely on pastoralist work in areas prone to drought.
Boswellia neglecta is also unique in that the tree does not need to be injured to harvest the resin, it flows naturally from the trunk making this a truly sustainable product.
