Description

Myrrh gum is reddish-brown in colour and forms crystalline shapes as it dries in the desert sun.

Our myrrh is derived from the resin found within the pierced bark of the Commiphora tree in India.

In ancient times, the smoke from the resin was used for fumigation, embalming, and for spiritual rituals.

unusable resin

The main usage of the myrrh (and frankincense) resin is to burn a small piece, generally on an equally small piece of charcoal, not on the barbecue in one go! This one came as one big lump, so unusable as is. Suggest you break it down before sending it, just as you do with incense.

Highly recommended

This pleases me! This is a lovely resin, which has a clear and subtle lemon smell / high note, which creates a clear atmosphere. It is beautiful by itself, or mixed with frankincense. Great for cleansing the atmosphere and for meditation. The only downer was the Myrrh was in a large ball lump in the packet which I had to hit with a hammer to get it in to sizes to burn in my resin burner. (Other resins arrive in tiny burnable pieces). I would happily buy again though. Highly recommended.
