INCI: Ubidecarenone

Coenzyme Q10 is a fat-soluble, vitamin-like, substance present in all human cells. It is responsible for cell protection and energy production in the body.

Studies have shown that coenzyme Q10 may have an effect on skin and the appearance of wrinkles. This is likely due to its powerful antioxidant properties which help to protect the skin from UV damage, stimulate healthy collagen production and reduce substances that wreak havoc on skin's support structure. Other research suggests that topical application of CoQ10 has antioxidant and anti-inflammatory effects.

This product is produced by microbial fermentation of a substrate derived from corn and so is suitable for vegan/vegetarian use.

Coenzyme Q10

I used this product making the Pure Nature moisturiser lotion base recipe and I love it, it feels lovely on my skin.

I made 2 nice containers.

I gave one to my daughter to try and it reacted slightly with a prickly sensation.

She tried the moisturiser lotion base on its own and that was fine, so maybe it was the essential oil of Lavender or the Coenzyme Q10.
