Description
Glycolic Acid, also known as hydroxy acetic acid, is one of the alpha-hydroxy acids (AHA’s). These acids occur naturally in fruits, sugar cane and milk. When used topically, it can assist with the removal of dead skin cells helping to renew the skin. It is most commonly used for hyperpigmentation, fine lines and acne. It is mostly found in exfoliating products (peels), or in creams and lotions but at a much lower concentration. Glycolic Acid is obtained by synthesis.
