Glycolic Acid, also known as hydroxy acetic acid, is one of the alpha-hydroxy acids (AHA’s). These acids occur naturally in fruits, sugar cane and milk. When used topically, it can assist with the removal of dead skin cells helping to renew the skin. It is most commonly used for hyperpigmentation, fine lines and acne. It is mostly found in exfoliating products (peels), or in creams and lotions but at a much lower concentration. Glycolic Acid is obtained by synthesis.

useful ingredient

As with other acids care is needed and the instructional video was excellent. Found it easy to use with the right steps taken and careful measurements.

Good for skin brightening

I mix a small amount of glycolic acid in the my moisturiser and it has a brightening effect on my skin. Use with caution however, too much can sting.

Glycolic acid

I mix this product in a 7% mixture with non ionic cream, to make a face cream which keeps my skin more clear and smooth than any other cream i have tried, and it costs nothing compared to the cost of commercial skin creams.
