DESCRIPTION

Neem oil has a long history of use in its native country of India where it is used extensively. It is one of the most popular medicines in the Ayurvedic tradition which regards it as something of a panacea. Neem extracts are also used in agriculture as natural alternatives to synthetic pesticides, the compound Azadirachtin is largely responsible for this action.

Neem oil has traditionally been used for a myriad of skin complaints ranging from infections, through to baldness. In Ayurveda it is regarded as a Pitta pacifying agent making it useful for hot, dry conditions such as eczema or pruritis.

Not just for health

I use neem oil for my garden. It is a great insect repellent, cat and bird deterrent and soil conditioner. Undiluted and dripped around the area where cats are littering or blackbirds digging up the soil immediately puts a stop to their activities. This neem oil is thick and value for money (unlike hardware store variety) so rain won't wash it away and the natural smell and bitter taste stops unwanted pests from destroying my garden. Highly recommend it for garden use. I have also diluted it and used it as a spray for the plants too.
