Description

INCI:Squalane

Derived from olives.

Squalene is a naturally occurring compound produced by all plants and animals including humans. It has many functions in the body including acting as a precursor for various hormones and Vitamin D. It is one of the most common lipids produced by human skin cells and acts as a powerful moisturiser, however, it is also susceptible to oxidation.
Olive squalane is a saturated form of squalene that far more stable, squalane is the most common form of squalene used in cosmetics.

Olive Squalane is an essential ingredient for skin products where a regenerative effect is desired. Young skin produces sufficient levels when it's young but as we age the levels drop considerably and this may be responsible for many of the signs of ageing skin such as the tendency to become thinner and damage more easily. Including Olive Squalane in your daily routine can help to replenish the natural levels in the skin and can help to restore a more youthful appearance.

Squalane also offers an improved skin feel to products and enhances absorption of other ingredients into the skin.

Silky smooth

This product was recommended to me as THE product to use for facial serums & I can see/feel why. It makes your skin feel lovely, & a little goes a long way - extending the reach of your serum.

I’ve also added it to a sunscreen mix with pleasing results.

Another great oil to make a part of your daily routine

Squalene is another favorite. Really light and versatile. Make it up into serums and put in what your skin is comfortable with. This is the first serum I use when I have washed my face, one I make up with squalene as the base. It absorbs fast and if any left on the surface of my face neck and decolletage I just dab it off with a towel then onto my Japanese camellia based serum, which I use as part of a 5 minute "me time" at the end of the day. I got a small ultrasonic scrubber from Dr Pen Australia, and I use that on "lifting" setting and it helps it absorb. All of these oil products are great after you microneedle your face or whatever your routines are, but the squalene and the Japanese camellia are amazing. These oils are fantastic for making the right serum for your needs, not what some cosmetic company tells you that you need. Thoroughly recommend the squalene oil - ♡♡♡ (three hearts is a high recommendation from my point of view!)
