Description
Papaya seed oil is a carrier oil pressed from the seeds of Carica papaya, the same fruit you’d find at the market. Seeds that are usually discarded become a pale-to-golden oil that formulators can use in their own leave-on products.
Its fatty acid profile is dominated by oleic acid, a monounsaturated fatty acid also found in olive oil, with smaller amounts of palmitic, linoleic and stearic acids. That makes it a rich-feeling oil, well suited to body oils, balms, salves, and the oil phase of creams and lotions.
Use it on its own as a simple base, or blend it with your favourite butters, lighter oils and creams to build something that’s yours.
Ideas for using it
- Body oils and massage oil blends
- Balms, salves and lip balm bases
- The oil phase of creams and lotions
- Hair oils and scalp oil blends
- Carrier oil for essential oil blends (dilute appropriately)
For cosmetic use only. External use only. Patch test before use.
