Description
Sea Buckthorn is a thorny shrub found in Asia, North America and Europe. The oil derived from the fruit is rich palmitoleic and palmitic acid as well as vitamin E and carotenoids - which give it its distinct orange colour. These constituents along with the low amounts of polyunsaturated fatty acids make it a very stable oil.
Palmitoleic acid has been shown to have anti-microbial properties and to inhibit melanin synthesis in the skin. It may also enhance the skin penetration of other oil-soluble actives.
Studies have confirmed anti-inflammatory, antioxidative and regenerative properties for Sea Buckthorn Fruit oil. Sea Buckthorn oil is particularly suitable for the care of irritated and inflamed skin.
Note: Sea Buckthorn Fruit Oil is a dark orange/red oil and can stain the skin we recommend using below 5%.
