Description

Sodium Carbonate also known as Soda Ash or Washing Soda is most commonly used in laundry powder, as it acts to 'soften' water and enables detergents to perform more effectively.  It excels at cutting through grease and grime - making it a great DIY home cleaning ingredient.

It is used broad industrial applications ranging from glass making through to food processing. 

Soda Ash Light has a finer density and size (it powder like) compared to Soda Ash Desnse.

Soda Ash

I love using this soda ash in my washing powder. It’s easy to add to my mixture and doesn’t clump together in my washing machine.

It's ok

I had been using the dense one, but thought I'd try this light one as it was a little cheaper. It's very, very fine powder. You don't want to spill it. I feel dense one might work better in our washes (normally do 40 degrees wash). You get more volume as it's finer powder, but if you use the same amount in a wash as you did with the dense one (in my case, a 1/4 cup in each wash), you're probably not putting enough as it's finer powder?
