Description
Vanilla is one of the most familiar and popular scents but its origins are commonly misunderstood. Technically, there is no such thing as Vanilla essential oil as it cannot be distilled or pressed from the plant. The scent of vanilla can only be extracted using a solvent, typically alcohol or in this case carbon dioxide (CO2).
Natural vanilla has a beautiful, sweet but very mild aroma. Generally, the strong vanilla scents most people encounter are fragrances cleverly designed with specialist aroma compounds - not natural vanilla. We suggest blending very carefully with natural vanilla so as not to lose the scent.
