Excellent way to start your melts journey
Home fragrance makes me happy. If you enjoy DIYing, making them is so much cheaper which then makes the husband happy too. I used 1Tb of fragrant oil per 125g of wax base; this made 2 'clam shells'. I heated the wax to 85°C, added the oil, stirred gently for about 90 seconds and by that time it would have cooled to 75°C for pouring into the molds. The hardest part is opening the molds to use the wax melts; it's a very tight seal. I've cut the tops off the clam shells so I can reuse the molds again and am storing the melts in glass jars or food-safe plastic pottles until Mylar bags from Ebay arrive.
