Sodium hydroxide or Caustic soda, is used to convert fats and oils to soap. Sodium hydroxide is traditionally used to make harder soaps that dissolve less easily than those made using Potassium hydroxide. Despite both being called 'Lye' Sodium Hydroxide and Potassium Hydroxide are not interchangeable in soap recipes.

Sodium hydroxide is a highly corrosive dangerous good. This product will be shipped separately if you purchase more than one item containing sodium hydroxide, as it requires special handling by our shipper, which can cause a delay in the delivery of your order.

PREVENTION:

Keep out of reach of children. Read label before use. Read safety data sheet before use.

Keep only in original container. Wash hands and exposed skin thoroughly after handling.

Do not breathe dust. Avoid breathing dust. Do not eat, drink or smoke when using this product.

Use only outdoors or in a well-ventilated area. Wear appropriate personal protective equipment when handling including eye protection and gloves Avoid release to the environment.

RESPONSE:

If medical advice is needed, have product container or label at hand.

Absorb spillage to prevent material damage.

IF SWALLOWED:  Rinse mouth.  Do NOT induce vomiting. Immediately call a POISON CENTER or doctor/physician.

IF ON SKIN (or hair):  Remove/Take off immediately all contaminated clothing.  Rinse skin with water/shower. Wash with plenty of soap and water. Wash contaminated clothing before reuse.

IF IN EYES:  Rinse cautiously with water for several minutes.  Remove contact lenses, if present and easy to do.  Continue rinsing.

IF INHALED:  Remove to fresh air and keep at rest in a position comfortable for breathing.

Call a POISON CENTRE 0800 POISON (0800-764-766) if you feel unwell.

STORAGE:

Store in a well-ventilated place.  Keep cool.

Works Great!

When making soaps, you must remember you need to purchase quality.. Im really glad I chose Pure Nature to purchase my Sodium Hydroxide. It works great!

NOTE: When opening the container for the first time you want to be aware that the sodium hydroxide thats stuck to the lid due to static might flick out, so be mindful or your surroundings.
