Description
Perhaps the most well-known and popular of all the essential oils, and for good reason - Lavender has been used for thousands of years for its healing, antiseptic and sedative properties.
Lavender oil likely sparked modern interest in therapeutic essential oils after the ‘father of aromatherapy’, René-Maurice Gattefossé, attributed the healing of his hand from gas gangrene to Lavender. He went on to successfully use it on wounded soldiers in the First World War.
Nature/Essence – Calming & Relaxing
Lavender is a highly versatile ‘first aid’ oil. Healing, soothing, antiseptic and analgesic properties make it the first choice for minor burns and wounds, itchy bites and aggravated skin conditions including eczema, psoriasis and acne. For general skin care Lavender is good for all skin types.
Lavender’s relaxing properties can help ease digestive, menstrual or muscular spasms. Quick-acting for headaches when rubbed onto the temples or used in a compress, and wonderful to ease muscles and joints when added to a warm bath or body oil. It is also helpful as an inhalation for respiratory congestion and tightness.
Lavender calms nervous tension and acts as a gentle sedative to aid sleep and ease agitation and irritability. Perfect for stress and tension headaches
Promotes a calm and gentle atmosphere. Use to scent bed linen or pillows to aid sleep. A great option for household antiseptic cleaning blends.
