INCI:Tapioca Starch

Tapioca starch is extracted from the roots of the South American cassava plant. A starchy white flour with a slightly sweet flavor, it can be used as an alternative to traditional wheat flours, particularly in baking.

​Tapioca starch helps to bind gluten-free recipes and improves the texture of baked goods. It's great for adding crispness to crusts and chewiness to baked goods.

The smoothness of Tapioca makes for a great thickener in sauces, pies and soups. It has no discernible taste or smell and is less likely to coagulate or separate when refrigerated or frozen.
 

Personal Care

Tapioca starch can also be used as a natural thickener in personal care products. It is particularly useful in natural deodorants as well where it aids in removing excess moisture.

How To Use Tapioca Starch

  • Use tapioca starch to replace corn starch (use 2 Tbsp tapioca flour for each 1 Tbsp corn starch).
  • Use in combination with other gluten free flours for best results.
