Description
Sandalwood has a woody, milky, soft, sturdy, rich aroma, with a green top note and a satisfying lingering scent. It is one of the most expensive essential oils, as with many such valuable commodities this has lead to the over-exploitation of the trees which yield the precious oil.
This is particularly evident in the Mysore region of India which is home to the finest Sandalwood oil. The trees are all now government owned and the trade is tightly controlled. Sustainable plantations have been established in Australia and wild forests are sustainably managed in New Caledonia but the oil price is still exceptionally high.
PureNature Cosmetic Grade Oils
Our range of 'Cosmetic Grade Oils' are offered as an alternative to the essential oils of the same name. They are made using essential oils, essential oil fractions and nature identical components.
Cosmetic grade oils are particularly useful for fragrancing cosmetic, personal care and home care products where the properties of the essential oil may not be necessary and a cheaper alternative is desirable.
