There’s nothing more annoying than mosquitos and sandflies putting a damper on these lovely summer evenings. Did you know that some essential oils have well researched insect repellent properties which make them great to use as a natural alternative.

Our Bugs Away Essential Oil Blend has been expertly blended by our in house aromatherapist. This zesty handy little bottle will be your go to inside and outside the home. Check below for a candle recipe and bugs away body oil and balm.

What’s in it? A blend of Lemon Eucalyptus, Lavender, Geranium, Cedarwood, Lemongrass and Citronella Pure Essential Oils.

1. DIY Bugs Away Diffuser

Diffusing insect repelling essential oils is a fantastic way to dealing with the summer riff raff. Pop 5-10 drops of Bugs Away Essential Oil Blend into your diffuser. Need a diffuser? Check the range out here.

2. DIY Bugs Away Candle

You can either use our bugs away essential oil blend or citronella fragrance oil (which has natural citronella).

Ingredients:

Melt the wax, add the fragrance/blend when temperature of wax is at 75 degrees, stir well but gently and pour. Leave too cool and cure for a week. New to candle making? Check out our candle video here or grab a candle kit and select the citronella fragrance.

3. DIY Bugs Away Body Oil

Ingredients:

Add all the ingredients to the bottle, screw on the pump and shake gently to disperse.

4. DIY Bugs Away Balm

Use our Basic Balm Recipe here - for the essential oil increase to Bugs Away Essential Oil Blend 3gms (60 drops).

5. Soothing Roller Bottle

Been bitten? Make up a soothing roller bottle to apply to the bite.  Add 15 drops of lavender essential oil to a roller bottle and fill with jojoba oil.
