Montanov 202 is a natural, Palm-free, PEG-free, non-ionic, O/W emulsifier. It is 100% vegetable-derived from glucose (sourced from wheat, maize or cassava) and rapeseed oil.
As it is derived from both sugars and fats, it is termed a 'glucolipid' emulsifier, this structure gives it hydrating properties which can assist the action of any hydrating ingredients present in the finished formulations. It also has proven 'mattifying' effect on the formulation, useful where a glossy finish is not desired.
Method: Add to oil phase at 85°C, combine with water phase at the same temperature under high shear. Cool down slowly with gentle stirring to maintain liquid crystal structure.
